Today’s Vegan Brunch Class

Yesterday we learned how to make a vegan brunch.  We made delicious and healthy dishes using all fresh vegetables and herbs.  We made a carrot parsnip soup, polenta with mushrooms, a tofu quiche and roasted radishes.  I also made fresh bread this morning for everyone

Yesterday we tried out Marlow & Sons in Williamsburg. When you walk into the restaurant you first go through the cafe which is not only a cafe, but a general store as well. The restaurant itself is resembles a canteen.  The menu was very small

Cha-an is located in the East Village in New York.

They have an extensive list of teas on their menu and they are also displayed beautifully in their canisters on the shelves of the cafe.  They serve Japanese tea as well as a wide variety of Chinese teas, herbals teas and other teas from all around the world.

They serve light meals using healthy ingredients as well as great desserts!

We tried their green tea parfait and kinako mochi.  Both were excellent!

Cocoron Soba Restaurant: Second Store

Yesterday I visited Cocoron’s second store in New York for the first time.  There first store is located just down the street but the second store was much larger and spacious. I felt a lot more relaxed eating in their new restaurant because in the previous one it always felt too crowded and busy to enjoy a meal.  While their cold soba is usually better, I think that there hot soba was better this time.  I also tried their green tea parfait for dessert (it was great!).  Their homemade mochi ice cream was really great as well!
